Well, before we even go to the Casio CTK 4200, we might just as well go back first to its predecessor, the Casio CTK 4000, which was a really outstanding keyboard. The Casio CTK 4000 featured a lot of great things, like the quality of the digital sounds, and a full rich sound coming from the speakers. And then there’s the training and instruction brought to you by the Step Up learning system, which I think is a very niche touch, and a fixture in most Casio keyboards nowadays. The keys aren’t weighted, but that’s also the preference of people who buy keyboard from this series.
That being said, the Casio CTK 4000 had all the basics that you would look for in a decent digital keyboard, at a very cheap price. Well how does the Casio CTK 4200 compare? It seems like it’s a pretty significant improvement from its older brother. The price is still the same, at around one hundred fifty dollars, but there are more features in terms of the built in tones, there are 30 more. Then there’s an emphasis on rhythmic accompaniment patterns, which if I’m not mistaken, wasn’t the main emphasis of the Casio CTK 4000. I guess the Casio CTK 4200 makes it even more possible to become a one-man band than when it comes to the older version.
Finally, the Casio CTK-4200, at the same price, includes accessories (our favorite thing!) such as headphones, an X-style stand, and a power supply. Given that alone, this complete package is definitely a significant improvement from the older version, and makes it even more of a bargain than every before! Recommended without any hesitation!
